Reddit Raffler
Turn community comments into your next giveaway result. Reddit Raffler helps moderators set entry rules, choose winners, and keep a record of their draws, directly inside Reddit.
Open Reddit Raffler on Reddit (opens in a new tab)Meet Reddit Raffler
Reddit Raffler, displayed as Raffit inside Reddit, is approved by Reddit and available through its app listing. It supports random, weighted, highest- or lowest-score, and moderator-selected winners from top-level comments on your own posts.
The picker runs inside Reddit with no separate account or external dashboard required. Only moderators with posts or all permissions can manage their community's raffles. Participants simply comment on the source post.
Reddit approval applies to the app. Reddit is not responsible for any giveaways or raffles. Organizers set the rules and supply the prizes; the app does not collect entry fees or distribute prizes.
How to use Reddit Raffler
Install in your community
Open the Reddit app listing using the button above and install comment-picker in a community you moderate. Installation requires permission to install apps; managing raffles requires posts or all moderator permissions.
Publish your entry post
Create a regular post in that community from the account that will create the raffle. Explain eligibility, prizes, timing, and how winners will be selected. Participants enter by leaving top-level comments: direct comments on that post, rather than replies to other comments.
Open Raffit
Installation creates a launcher post titled Raffit. Open it and press Start raffle. If the launcher is missing, use Open Raffit in the community app menu. The launcher opens the tool; your source post collects entries.
Choose your post and rules
Select your own source post in the installed community. Set the winner count, end time and time zone, selection method, entry frequency, and any keyword or minimum-length filters. Review creator exclusion, then press Create raffle. This saves settings without publishing rules to your source post.
Select and review winners
For automatic selection, wait until the end time and use Draw winners and finish, or let the scheduler process the raffle. For Creator chooses from comments, select eligible comments under Who commented and press Finish raffle with the selected winners.
Return to your results
Open View raffles to find saved draws. Closed - finished means the winners are saved. Check eligibility and contact winners according to your published rules. Optional manual replies publish real Reddit comments, so review them before sending.
Give each person an equal chance
The initial settings count every comment and give weight to comment score. For an equally weighted random draw, choose these settings explicitly:
- Winner selection: Random selection at draw time.
- Entry frequency: One entry per commenter.
- Entries per comment: 1; entries per upvote score and reply: 0.
- Comment upvotes: Do not use comment upvotes.
Apply your published eligibility rules consistently, and disclose any weighting or manual selection to participants.
Before you run a draw
- The end time enables an automatic draw; it does not exclude comments submitted after that time. Scheduled draws run approximately every five minutes and may be delayed.
- Post-upvote requirements and rules written in notes are informational. The picker cannot verify who upvoted a post or enforce those notes.
- Filters and available comments can result in fewer winners than requested, or none. Score-based draws use only the chosen score extremes.
- Closed raffles cannot be edited or redrawn. Deleting a raffle does not remove source posts or published replies.
- External integrations and AI replies are currently disabled. Manual replies use local wording.
Common questions
Why can't I find my post?
Use the account that authored it, open Raffit in the same community, clear search filters, and refresh. Reddit post-history availability can limit what appears.
Why are there no eligible comments?
Check that entries are top-level comments with available authors. Review creator exclusion, keyword and length filters, and positive entry weights.
How do I report a raffle?
Use Report raffle content to open a modmail draft. Add the offending content and reason, then send it to the community moderators. Source posts, comments, and replies also have Reddit Report controls.
