The thing is even if you had the money to buy the parts or the components you must know somewhere to the knowledge to buy the correct Parts if that's what you were looking to do if you were just looking to learn how to build one I would just watch some videos man or just go buy a junk PC and mess around with it something real cheap or save some money up
I mean start with a push lawn mower asking people if they would like their yard cut 20-40 per average yard
Plus laptop makes more sense because I can move out for job and work . Even tho performance is not good but portability is necessary.
You nailed the main reason I'd go for a laptop over a desktop. They trade power for portability while still allowing you to play most, if not all, current gen games at some level. May not be Ultra settings, but being able to play beats twiddling your thumbs while away from home.
