Why use Gift Gold
Platform rewards, not game-item payment
Gift Gold may be used for eligible platform rewards and products available through Battlenet, Steam and more platforms.
It cannot be offered, requested, or escrowed as payment for a digital in-game item.
Digital-game listings must use the relevant game's own currency. Fiat and every other out-of-game currency are also unavailable for those listings.
Gift Gold rewards, wallet activity, and eligible platform features remain separate from digital-game item trading.
No Transaction Fees
Move eligible platform value between players without platform transaction fees. This does not apply to digital-game item trading.
Gift Gold Vault
Gift Gold does not expire, deflate, or inflate because it stays anchored at a rate of 100 Gift Gold to 1 Euro. The Gift Gold Vault is also a sophisticated payment layer where users can manage balances, transfers, offers, escrows, and account history in one place.
Mediation Ticket System
If an eligible platform transaction gets stuck, both sides can open a dispute ticket so staff have the context needed to review it.
Vault Betting
Create direct bets with another user or public betting markets where users back creator-defined outcomes and admin confirmation releases payouts.
Digital Rewards
Use Gift Gold for eligible platform rewards. It is not a payment option for digital in-game items.
Unique Proof of Work System
Gift Gold is tied into a unique proof of work style system built around cTokens and live gameplay interaction rather than being treated like a simple currency that is bought outright in large volume.
Players use cTokens, then go into Play With Purpose to scan corpses and uncover rewards. Those rewards can include items and value that feed back into the wider economy.
Eligible rewards from that process may be converted into Gift Gold or USD and withdrawn to a connected PayPal or Stripe wallet. That gives players a direct path from gameplay activity into platform value and then into real withdrawal rails when appropriate.
Because Gift Gold is connected to this wider proof of work style flow, it is harder to obtain than a currency that mainly spreads through direct card purchases. That makes it less prevalent to fraudulent credit cards being used to buy it up front and helps keep the economy more grounded in actual player activity, rewards, and mediated platform controls.
Digital-game trading restrictions
Gift Gold is separate from the digital-game marketplace. Listings for Diablo, Path of Exile, and every other digital game must use only that game's in-game currency. Review current markets in The Crimson Market trade section.
Digital-game trading policy
Gift Gold cannot be used to buy, sell, bid on, or escrow digital in-game items. Those listings use only the currency available inside the relevant game.
No fiat pricing for in-game items
Digital-game listings also cannot use AUD, USD, EUR, or another out-of-game currency. Choose the in-game currency option when publishing.

Gift Gold betting
Betting gives Gift Gold users a structured way to make direct two-person stakes or public pool bets for esports betting, game challenges, and game outcome bet markets without relying on manual trust, screenshots, or chat-only agreements. It is handled inside the Gift Gold Vault Bet tab.
How a direct bet starts
- The creator enters the opponent's Transfer ID.
- The creator chooses the Gift Gold stake, time limit, and bet terms.
- The creator's stake is locked first so the offer is backed by real balance.
- The opponent accepts and locks the matching stake before the bet becomes active.
- When the bet ends, both users must agree on the same winning user before funds release.
How public pool bets work
- The creator defines the market, terms, close time, and outcome labels.
- Public outcomes are not winner user IDs. They can be labels like Team A wins, Team B wins, Yes, No, Draw, or another clear result.
- Users bet into outcome pools; estimated odds move with the pool.
- The creator proposes the winning outcome and can attach a proof link.
- An admin must confirm the result before pooled funds are released to users who backed the winning outcome.
- Bettors and creators can open a dispute before the market is resolved.
Why betting belongs in the vault
Game communities often run races, challenges, duels, carries, and outcome-based side agreements. The vault keeps those agreements attached to real user IDs, selected currency, stake amount, expiry timing, proof links, winner proposals, and admin confirmation.
That makes Gift Gold betting easier to audit than a private chat agreement. The system knows who staked, what outcome they backed, what proof was supplied, who confirmed the result, and whether a dispute was opened.
Current public bet flow
- A creator opens a public market in the Bet tab and writes the question or event.
- The creator adds clear outcome labels, sets the close time, and publishes the market.
- Users choose an outcome and stake Gift Gold into that outcome pool.
- After the close time, the creator selects the winning outcome and submits a proof link.
- Staff review the proposed result. Funds only release after admin confirmation.
- If there is a problem, users can dispute the bet so staff can review the market and evidence.
How the Gift Gold Vault escrow system works
The Gift Gold Vault manages eligible platform transactions, including supported escrows, offers, expiry timers, cancellation handling, and dispute review. These escrow features are not available for digital in-game items.
Direct escrow
- The buyer creates an escrow for an eligible physical item or service.
- Gift Gold is reserved from the buyer's balance immediately.
- The seller delivers the eligible physical item or service.
- The buyer completes the escrow after confirming delivery.
- Completion transfers the reserved Gift Gold to the seller.
Offer-first escrow
- The buyer can require the seller's acceptance before value is reserved.
- The seller receives an offer with the eligible transaction details, amount, and expiry time.
- If accepted, Gift Gold is then reserved and the escrow becomes active.
- If rejected or expired, no Gift Gold is deducted from the buyer.
Operational protections inside the escrow flow
Every eligible escrow carries transaction details, participating user IDs, timestamps, and an expiry window. In the live system, escrows typically run with time limits such as 72 hours, 5 days, or 7 days depending on the transaction. If an escrow is not completed in time, the reserved Gift Gold is returned instead of being trapped forever.
Cancellation is also structured. If there is a problem, either party can request cancellation. The system tracks which side requested it, waits for agreement when needed, and supports reverting a cancellation request before the escrow closes. When both sides agree, the escrow can be unwound cleanly.
For trades that break down, both buyers and sellers can open disputes from the escrow record itself. That gives mediation a proper ticket trail with the escrow ID, counterparty, transaction description, timing, and cancellation history, which is much stronger than trying to resolve trades from chat logs alone.
Why this matters
The result is an escrow system for eligible platform transactions. It gives buyers a way to reserve value safely, gives sellers a clear acceptance and delivery flow, and gives both sides a structured path for cancellation, expiry, and dispute handling when something goes wrong.
That is why the Gift Gold Vault should be thought of as more than a wallet. It is an advanced payment technology layer with a live dashboard for balances, transfer history, pending offers, active escrows, cancellations, and dispute handling. Digital-game item trading is excluded.

Timed bidding system
The Crimson Market also supports timed bid listings through the trade marketplace. That gives sellers a structured auction-style flow instead of forcing every listing into instant buyouts.
How bids are timed
- Bid listings are created with an end date.
- The listing shows a live countdown while bidding is open.
- As long as the timer is active, buyers can continue placing bids.
- When the countdown reaches zero, the active bidding window is over.
How bids are recorded
- Bids are attached to the listing's public bidding conversation.
- Sellers can review bidders directly from the listing details view.
- The system identifies the current highest bidder for the seller.
- After an eligible physical-item listing ends, the seller can continue from the bidding section and arrange delivery.
Why timed bidding matters
Timed bidding works well for eligible physical items, uncertain price discovery, and listings where a seller wants the market to compete naturally instead of locking in a fixed number too early.
Timed bidding and direct transfers remain available only for eligible platform activity. They do not make Gift Gold available as payment for digital in-game items.
