Forum Gold feedbacks.

Hello Citizens, it is I, The Great One.

So, I'm here to talk about forum gold.

Let me start with an example. I used 200 tokens on a scan and it gave a 42x on forum gold. Amazing, right? Yeah, the sad thing is though, that I used it to essentially buy more cTokens and keep scanning.

That's the whole issue in one sentence. Gold, originally called Relics, is essentially TCM's flashy coin — or would be if it wasn't for its younger brother cTokens. As it stands, I would say that despite its direct contact with gift forge, there is simply no real reason to use your gold on anything other than getting more cTokens. One can find very good deals on gift forge and use the gold to get a hefty discount, true, however, cTokens display a more direct impact on the life of the user. As it is mainly the source, the fuel of the overlay system, it ends up being vastly more useful, interactive and outright fun to have than any real amount of forum gold. And with some games set to start charging cTokens, that gap only widens.

Which is why my actual request is small. The conversion already mostly exists — gold discounts a cToken purchase, up to 99% if you have enough of it. I just want the last step gone. I do realize that there was once a 100% discount and it was removed for some reason that I'm unaware of, maybe payment processors? Who knows. But what I think would make it less bureaucratic is getting rid of the necessity of using a card in the first place.

And here's the thing — that rate already exists. Rubies are the universal converter, and they go both ways: into gold and into cTokens. Which means TCM has already decided what gold is worth in cTokens. It's just that the only way to find out is to launder your gold through rubies first and do the math yourself. I'm not asking anyone to invent a new exchange rate or make a judgement call about what gold should be worth. That call has been made. I'm asking to skip the laundering. If rubies get to be a universal converter, I don't see why gold can't have that property as well.

Another small problem: gold sometimes gives me reserve issues. Say I have 800 gold and want to spend 300 on cTokens — somehow I can't, because it cannot be reserved. Happens maybe one in ten times. Small thing, but annoying, and it's a bit funny that it happens on the exact step you'd need to convert gold to cTokens the long way.

That's my case. Since I am The Great One, naturally my opinion is factually right and should be taken seriously. That's it, bye.
