I'm on the taming setup right now - have pretty much everything in the guide, checked passives, etc - it seems I am freezing enemies but, not where near as frequently as I have in the past. It's causing some delays in frenzy charge generation, most things die before they're frozen. I'm heavily leaning towards cold damage, have the offhand Eye scepter, just not sure why low on freezing all of a sudden.
